Becoming Educated about Lung Cancer
_My name is Tyler Myrick and I've made this site to
increase awareness and understanding of small cell lung cancer and cancer in general. Cancer literacy is becoming more and more important
considering that cancer rates are higher than ever in America, in fact one in every four people are projected to die from cancer. Of all the kinds of cancers lung cancer is one of the most common and non small cell lung cancer is certainly one of the most preventable, most cases resulting from cigarette smoking. Given these factors I feel it is important to educate people fully on all the aspects of non small cell lung cancer.

This website contains everything you will need to know to consider yourself lung cancer literate. In the basics page you will find information on symptoms, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of the disease on a more simple and broad level. On the genetics page you will find information about the relationship between non small cell lung cancer and certain genes. In the cellular page you will learn more about this cancer on the cellular level and about the cells from which it originates. In "The Lung" you will read about how the lung functions and how cancer affects these functions. On the Interviews page you will be able to view interviews which I conducted in the interest of understanding non small cell lung cancer through someone who has had experience with it. In the supports page you can learn about different groups and organizations whose goal is to help people to live non small cell lung cancer and to fight it.
